Amendment extends residency requirement for refugees applying for citizenship

Refugees will need to live in Greece for seven consecutive years – instead of the current three – before qualifying for Greek citizenship, under an amendment tabled in Parliament by the Interior Ministry on Thursday.
The seven-year prerequisite is currently applied to all applicants except refugees.
