German state radio ARD: Greece as an exemplary country
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The German state radio ARD, in a recent report, described Greece as an "exemplary country" in its management of the coronavirus crisis.
According to the radio station, many Greeks were surprised by the discipline they have shown in dealing with the coronavirus and by the government's good crisis management.
There was special mention of Greece's infectious diseases specialist Prof. Sotiris Tsiodras, who is the Greek health ministry's spokesperson for the crisis, saying that the central figure in the Greek fight against coronavirus is not the prime minister, but a 55-year-old doctor. When, in his low voice, every afternoon at exactly 18:00 he says good evening on Greek television, parents urge their children to keep quiet because Dr. Tsiodras is on TV. Sotiris Tsiodras presents the latest data, the number of new coronavirus infections and how many deaths, in a calm voice, the report added.
