Vodafone announced a 500-million euro investment portfolio to be completed by 2024, President and CEO Haris Broumidis during an online press conference on Tuesday.
The company's four-year investment program will focus on three distinct fields in telecommunications, said Broumidis: fiber optics and 5G networks, content enrichment on Vodafone TV, and the provision of a new generation of services along the strengthening of Vodafone Business and Internet of Things (IoT) innovations.
Commenting on how the company fared during the recent Covid-19 outbreak in Greece, the Vodafone CEO noted that "during the lockdown we had a 92 pct increase in voice services and a 53 pct increase in internet usage. There was also a dramatic increase in Vodafone TV, in which content consumption increased by 142 pct."
