Alternate Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis in an interview with 'Real News' on Sunday sent a message to Turkey that "the defence of our national sovereignty is non-negotiable," stressing that Turkey's policy leads to impasses.
"Against the constant Turkish provocation, Greece will continue to be a force for stability in the wider region. Our country is committed to international law and international legality," Varvitsiotis underlined.
Referring to the recent crisis in Evros, he pointed out that Greece has shown determination and proved that it can protect its borders, which are also the borders of Europe, while this also the case every day in the Aegean.
Regarding the Greek Presidency of the Council of Europe, he noted that it would be "dynamic, timely and above all digital", with the aim of becoming a large, free, open and democratic dialogue on democratic institutions, the rule of law and human rights in the COVID-19 period.
