- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The Ministry of National Defense on Friday tabled amendments in parliament requesting the additional financing of some 23.475 mln euros for the completion of overhauls in four submarines and two gunboats at Skaramangas and Eleusis Shipyards, respectively.
Some 20.1 mln euros will cover the servicing costs of both the submarines and their escort vessels, while 3.375 mln euros will see the completion of works in the Navy's missile-launcher vessels at Elefsina shipyards.
The proposed amount would be allocated via the Defense Ministry's public investment program; the amendment was tabled for inclusion in the Tourism Ministry's bill titled 'Special types of tourism and provisions for tourism development' which is being voted in parliament late Friday.
