The facilities of the Alimos marina are expected to be significantly upgraded in the next five years, which from the first of January passes under the control of Aktor Concessions for 40 years.

The transaction will be finalized by the end of the year with the payment to the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund of the first installment of 27.8 million euros, which corresponds to 50% of the total price for the concession of the largest marina in the country to the company of the Hellactor group.

The total value of the agreement will amount to 177 million euros and in addition to the lump sum payable, the payment of an annual concession fee of 400,000 euros - according to budget data - and a percentage of turnover is foreseen.

Aktor Concessions intends to upgrade the existing marina facilities by investing 50m euros over the next five years. According to the estimates of the company's executives, within 28 months from the beginning of the concession period, it is expected that all the licenses for the interventions planned by the concessionaire have been approved.

Among them is the construction of a boutique hotel with views to the sea, which will be built next to Skipper’s restaurant, while parking spaces will be created for about 850 cars.

Aktor Concessions' plans also envisage that restaurants and nautical stores, supermarkets, car and yacht rental offices, areas with support services (laundries, toilets, etc.), and recreation areas will be built in the coming years on the land area of ​​210,000 sqm.

The goal of the concessionaire is the utilization of the urban planning possibilities given by the Presidential Decree for the area, through the construction of additional spaces with an area of ​​up to 18,500 sq.m.

For a few days now, works have begun for the demolition of buildings that do not have legal permits in the marina and for the removal of abandoned vehicles, while jointly the Hellenic Public Properties Company (HPPC) and the municipality of Alimos are upgrading the electricity network.

As part of the upgrade of the facilities, new infrastructure of water supply, electricity networks and WiFi will be constructed.

The renovation of the Alimos marina is expected to be completed in 2025, as in addition to the period of 28 months for the issuance of the required permits, it will take another 20 months for the entire works to finish.
