President Katerina Sakellaropoulou visited the city of Delphi on Saturday, on occasion of the launch of "Delphic Cultural Heritage Days 2021", a series of cultural events held in honor of Greek poet Angelos Sikelianos.
At Delphi, Sakellaropoulou was given a tour of the archaeological museum and the outdoor ancient site. She also visited "Eva & Angelos Sikelianos Museum of Delphic Festivals", the poet's historical former residence.
The cultural events, which include an International Poetry Festival, are dedicated to Sikelianos' work, while also approaching the decisive role of his wife, Eva Palmer, in their common vision for the Delphic Festivals, as well as her contribution to their realization.
“ Delphic Cultural Heritage Days 2021” takes place from June 11 to July 11 in six areas and multiple venues: Delphi, Sykia, Lefkada, Salamis Island, Aegina, and Athens.
