Rape, trafficking charges against suspects for abuse and pimping of 19-year-old
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
A public prosecutor on Sunday charged a police officer and the father of a 19-year-old girl with 14 serious criminal offences and misdemeanours after she came forward to accuse them of rape, holding her captive against her will and forcing her into prostitution.
The police officer, arrested on Saturday, had already been suspended from duty pending a review for possible dismissal in connection with an unrelated case. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a third person involved in the case, who the girl named as an accomplice of the police officer.
She also accused her father of repeatedly raping her in their home from the age of 11 to 17.
The charges against them include human trafficking, trafficking of a minor, serial rape, incest with a minor, domestic intimidation, domestic bodily harm, abusive lewdness, drug dealing, illegally carrying a weapon, illegal possessing weapons and illegal weapons use.
The two suspects were led before the prosecutor and denied the charges against them. The police officer caused a stir by wearing a t-shirt advertising a company that produces pornographic films.
The case has now been referred to an examining magistrate.
