An extraordinary meeting of the Crisis Management Group was convened by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Costas Skrekas, in order to evaluate all alternative scenarios to ensure the smooth energy supply of the country, in case of interruption of gas supply from Russia.

In particular, the meeting decided the following:

• By Friday, gas administrator DESFA will submit a cost-benefit evaluation study to the ministry for the addition of a floating LNG tank at the Revythousa terminal.

• By Tuesday, the Administrator will inform the ministry on the progress of consultations with the Italian SNAM, on the possibilities of maintaining strategic gas reserves in underground storage units in Italy.

• DESFA will update its estimates regarding the additional LNG loads that will be needed, in case of total interruption of gas flows from Russia.

• The scenarios will cover three time periods:
o The period April - October 2022.
o The period October 2022 - March 2023.
o The period April 2022 - March 2023.

• DEPA Commerce closely monitors the availability of LNG consignments in international markets in order to procure additional consignments if necessary.

• By Tuesday, PPC will submit to the Energy Ministry the annual plan for lignite mining in its mines, to ensure the smooth operation of the available lignite plants.
