The Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, which met earlier this morning (Tuesday 5/30), said yes to the lifting of the immunity of Alexis Georgoulis.

A complaint has been made against the MEP for rape and beating. Alexis Georgoulis, with his letters to the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament as well as to the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, asked to speed up the procedures for lifting his immunity.

It is noted that only if the parliamentary immunity of Alexis Georgoulis is lifted will he and his lawyers be able to have access to the case file.
