Christos Gialias, known in the catering industry as he ran a business trading meat products, but also a factor in Greek football in professional and semi-professional teams, was attacked with a Kalashnikov while he was in his car, very close to his home in Mandra.

Gialias was also the owner of a company active in the field of loading and unloading, as well as catering businesses.

In football, he was president of AO Trikala, Panelefsiniakou and Mandraikos, while last year he was involved in the administrative affairs of PAS Corinth.

His name had surfaced in 2018, when in May of that year his ex-wife was murdered on the steps of her home. The two had a good relationship, with him rebuilding his life with a second marriage, in which he also had a child.

Speaking at the time about the murder of his ex-wife to Star TV, Gialias also vaguely referred to a case in which he was accused of illegally possessing weapons, which he claimed belonged to his guards, as he had hired people out of fear for his life to protect him.

“Hey guys, are you kidding me? I have been divorced from my wife for 20 years, 19 years. Are you kidding me? What does it have to do with football? She knew nothing about football. As long as I'm a criminal with guns ... I'm acquitted," he told the newscast about a month after his ex-wife was killed.
