The autopsy of the body of British BBC presenter Michael Mosley, who went missing on Thursday and was found dead on Sunday morning on the island of Symi, will take place at the hospital of Rhodes on Monday.
Medical examiner Despina Nathena, in the first phase, ruled out criminal action. According to the same information, because the rot is advanced, he could not determine the cause of death macroscopically, not even if he fell from the rocks.
She also cannot pinpoint when death occurred. From what little she could see, there were no wounds. The body of the 67-year-old TV and radio personality was found at a rocky area and nearly 10 metres from the sea, at the Aghia Marina area. Found next to his body was an umbrella Mosley was carrying the day he went missing, while he was also wearing a "smart" watch. Additionally, the body was found in a supine position, with the left hand on the chest.
The coroner estimates that Mosley probably felt some intense discomfort and lay down alone. The same sources said that the coroner could not determine from the outset whether Mosley fell of the cliff, because the body is in advanced decomposition.
The coroner, who was brought along with a team from the Criminal Investigations office and arrived on the island by boat from Rhodes to examine the body, performed an examination of the place where the Briton was found and searched the area from above to see if there were any signs of falling.
The well-known British TV reporter, Michael Mosley, had disappeared tlast Wednesday. Since Thursday morning, when he was officially reported missing by his wife, a major operation was underway to locate him, which included search partiew, a helicopter and drones.
