Regional governor of Central Macedonia meets US Ambassador Tsunis

The regional governor of Central Macedonia, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, had a meeting on Friday with the US Ambassador to Greece George Tsunis, at his office at the Administration Building of the Central Macedonia Region in the Villa Allatini.
The meeting focused on the developmental potential of Central Macedonia and a series of issues of common interest, with emphasis on entrepreneurship, innovation, new technologies, export of products to the US market and US investments in the region.
There was also a detailed discussion on the critical role of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) as a factor in the extroversion and development of Thessaloniki, in which issues such as the pivotal nature of the city and its perspective as an energy, commercial, tourist and cultural center of the wider region were examined.
The meeting additionally examined the progress of the Greek economy and the US support measures, with investments of strategic importance and with further collaboration in the sector of tourism and trade, as well as the joint effort for the launch of transatlantic flights to and from Thessaloniki's "MAKEDONIA" airport.
