Gunfire erupted on Monday afternoon in Metaxourgio, Athens, injuring a man. The Hellenic Police reported that the immediate response center was alerted to gunfire at the intersection of Kritis and Akominatou streets.
While police arrived promptly, they found no one at the scene but discovered seven shell casings during their investigation.
Shortly afterward, a man from Albania arrived at Laiko Hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder blade and is believed to be linked to the incident. Reports suggest that two individuals on a motorcycle approached the victim and opened fire. An investigation is ongoing.
