A man - of Egyptian origin - was arrested on Sunday night by police , who, according to reports, was displaying his genitals and harassing passers-by.
According to information, the police authorities had used female police officers as bait and when he noticed them, he followed one of them, resulting in his being stopped and arrested.
About two weeks ago, a young woman had experienced moments of terror when, returning from work, an unknown man followed her with his pants down, from the moment she parked her car to the entrance of her house, in the Alsos Peristeri area.
Local residents reported that the man often harassed women in the area.
“We have seen this person several times roaming the area, especially at night, and he always seems to have suspicious behavior,” a local resident had stated at the time.
The father of the student who had been the victim of harassment and had made the video public, had spoken to protothema.gr, angry about the incident.
“They need to be caught before they do something worse. I wonder what would happen if I caught him... I don’t know if I could control myself.”
