Elon Musk: Blocked $25,000 in funds for psychological support for LGBTQI immigrants in Greece
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The US DOGE service, which is under the control of Elon Musk, blocked funds related to Greece.
Specifically, it is an amount of $25,000, which, according to the relevant announcement, concerned our country and was titled: “Empowering refugees of the LGBTQIA+ community in Greece”.
In the description of the program, which the tycoon and his staff “cut”, it is stated that its purpose was to offer “material, legal and psychological support to asylum seekers and refugees of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as information and awareness of civil society on issues facing the LGBTQIA+ community”.
Musk himself wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that “there are too many such cases”, citing a post by the user “Libs of TikTok” with a photo of the Greek flag and the flag of the LGBTQI community, through which he posed the following question: “Why are we funding such garbage?”.
The congratulations of the MEP of the Hellenic Solution and the celebrations of Velopoulos for... the wrong reason
Elon Musk’s post was also commented on by the MEP of the Hellenic Solution Frangos Frangoulis, who had sent a letter to the tycoon, asking him to investigate funds that have been channeled by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) to Non-Governmental Organizations in our country and which, according to his letter, “are being wasted on housing illegal immigrants in luxury hotels”.
Mr. Frangoulis, as well as the party's president, Kyriakos Velopoulos, celebrate and congratulate Elon Musk for this specific move, although the funds withdrawn did not concern the housing of asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants.
