Featured Hellenic Police dismantles criminal far-right organization operating in Thessaloniki.

During a major police operation, dozens of houses were raided and 28 people were arrested, including 23 minors. The members of the organization are involved in criminal acts, such as attacks on anarchist and KKE premises, as well as thefts and robberies.

The Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, pointed out that these are members of the Nationalist Youth of Thessaloniki and “29 people are involved in this gang, 15 adults and 14 minors, and 28 people have been arrested so far.” According to information, one minor is on the run.

The minister stressed that this is “an operation carried out by the EL.AS. with very targeted investigations that it has carried out in recent months, through a careful effort by the Thessaloniki Crime Prosecution and Investigation Directorate, and it is really very important because it has nothing to do with purely political motives. Essentially, it is a criminal organization that, beyond political motives and motives, engages in criminal acts”. Mr. Chrysochoidis, however, does not see “an attempt to revive fascism in northern Greece”.

The police have arrested individuals involved in criminal acts, such as attacks on anarchist and KKE premises, as well as thefts and robberies. So far, 28 arrests have been made, of which 13 are minors. Another minor is still on the run and is reportedly abroad.

For his part, the Director of the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki, Giorgos Tzimas, during a press conference emphasized that the members of the Nationalist Youth of Thessaloniki are accused of robberies, thefts, beatings, acts of violence, incitement to acts of violence, etc.

The police had put these individuals in the "frame" of the investigations as under the guise of the far-right collective they robbed and committed attacks that caused injuries.
