The children of a well-known politician, former SYRIZA minister, were arrested yesterday Monday afternoon (8/9) on Charilaou Trikoupi Street in Exarchia.
It all started when officers from the OPKE group of the Hellenic Police saw two young men moving suspiciously. After deciding that they should proceed with their search, they stopped them and conducted a body search, during which they found two folding batons inside their clothes. Police sources report that both had placed the batons in the same spot on the front of their trousers.
The same sources explain that one of the two also had a pair of reinforced tactical gloves in his pocket. The police officers took the two young men to the Exarchia Police Department. There, a case was filed against them under the Weapons Law, while the competent prosecutor was informed.
The arrested are the children of a well-known politician, who has also served as a minister in the past.
