The message is that there is no question of evasion of the law anywhere - 1,400 arrests and 500 pre-trial detentions for organised crime in the last 6 months
The deployment of highly specialised uniformed officers inside Roma camps has been announced by the Minister of Civil Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis.
As he told SKAI, “These police officers will be combat officers, they will be inside the camps and will be based there. In a month and a half, they will be under the Greek FBI.
“They will be present every day, patrolling districts and neighborhoods. The message is that there is no question of evading the law anywhere,” he said.
“This tolerance that has existed for years and which for me is incomprehensible, this must end,” the Minister of Civil Protection asserted.
