On the evening of September 27, Rhodes celebrated World Tourism Day with a spectacular aerial show with drones.

A thousand drones lit up the sky over Rhodes with “light and history,” creating images that highlighted the island’s history and symbols.

The most attention-grabbing moment was undoubtedly the revival of the Colossus of Rhodes — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Other monuments that appeared as glowing figures in the night sky included the deer, the Valley of the Butterflies, the Knights, and the Olympic champion Diagoras.

“When technology meets history, the result is a spectacular experience that will remain unforgettable for everyone who witnessed it!” wrote the Municipality of Rhodes on Instagram.
