Manhunt for the murderer of two at campsite in Finikounda

Featured Manhunt for the murderer of two at campsite in Finikounda

Authorities are on a manhunt to arrest the perpetrator of the double murder at the campsite in Finikounda, Messinia.

The 70-year-old owner of the accommodation and the Albanian caretaker were found dead there.

According to information, the victims were found with gunshot wounds. The owner was found dead at the campsite's reception, while the caretaker was found a few meters away, shot in the back, probably in his attempt to escape. It is believed that the perpetrator's weapon was a shotgun.

Sources report that the perpetrator is a young man (possibly a minor), who came to the campsite as a potential customer. When he was informed that there were no available spaces, he allegedly pulled out a gun and opened fire on the two men.

Murderer and victims knew each other
According to information, it seems that the murderer and the victims knew each other, without the motive for the crime being known yet. According to MessiniaLive, a serious incident had occurred between them some time ago, but without any follow-up.

The police authorities have launched an investigation, examining testimonies and videos from security cameras in the area, with the aim of identifying and arresting the perpetrator. The campsite continues to operate, hosting several guests.

They had shot the owner of the campsite in the past
It is noted that the owner had previously been the victim of a murderous attack, from which he had escaped, but without naming the perpetrators.

According to information, the owner was shot in July, stating that he had no personal differences with anyone, while there are indications that the perpetrator and the victims may have known each other.

The case has been taken over by the Messinia Crime Investigation and Prosecution Sub-Directorate.
