Bloody incident in Vorizia, Heraklion – Dead and injured after explosion and exchange of fire

A vendetta with three dead and at least 15 injured in shootings occurred in Vorizia, Heraklion, Crete between two families. The victims, according to information, are a woman and two men.
It all started on Friday night after a bomb exploded in a house under construction belonging to one family. There were no injuries from the explosion, however this morning members of the family to which the house belongs went to the village to retaliate.
According to information, a warlike scene prevailed in the village as the shootings rained down. The same information speaks of 2 dead, as well as injured people, who are being transported by rural vehicles to health centers and hospitals.
Strong police forces have rushed to the village to prevent further escalation of the situation.
The bomb in the house that caused the retaliation
It all started when on Friday night (31.10.2025) an improvised explosive device exploded in a house under construction in the Vorizia area of the Municipality of Phaistos, Heraklion.
According to the police, the deafening noise that was heard caused a disturbance, however, fortunately, there were no injuries from the explosion, only material damage to the house under construction in which the explosive device had been placed.
Men from the Phaistos police station and bomb disposal chnicians immediately arrived at the scene. Today, an on-scene investigation was also carried out at the scene by police officers from the Heraklion Crime Investigation and Prosecution Sub-Directorate.
