Kimberly Guilfoyle met with Archbishop Ieronymos: "It's wonderful to meet you," said the US ambassador

The US Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, met with Archbishop Ieronymos today (11/13). Initially, she was welcomed at the Archdiocese of Athens by the Primate of the Archdiocese of Athens, Theocharis Varnavas, who led her to the first floor, to the Archbishop’s office.
It is her first meeting with the Primate of the Greek Church, and she said that it is an “honor and a blessing” and that she looks forward to “a fruitful relationship with the Church.”
As she said, the US Ambassador will attend the services, while she also mentioned her 19-year-old son, who was very happy that his mother met the Archbishop.
Kimberly Guilfoyle revealed that when she was offered the position of US ambassador, the first person she called was Archbishop Ieronymos and discussed it with him. In fact, he played an important role in her decision to come here.
In the brief conversation outside the Archbishop’s office, Ms. Guilfoyle said that “it’s wonderful to meet you, God bless you.”
For his part, Mr. Ieronymos welcomed the US ambassador, wished her “a good time in Greece” and expressed his hope that their meeting would be fruitful.
During the meeting at the Presidential Palace with President of the Republic Costas Tasoulas, Ms. Guilfoyle had said that she wanted to get to know the Greek Orthodox Church better, as she herself is deeply religious.
