An incident that occurred on Friday morning at the Aigio Hospital had a tragic and rather shocking outcome.
As tempo24news reports, the 43-year-old Aigio man who punched an orthopedic doctor and fled to avoid arrest, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon.
The 43-year-old was transported dead on Sunday afternoon by an EKAB ambulance to the Aigio Hospital, without the cause of his death being yet known.
The exact cause of death is being investigated, while a forensic examination is expected that will shed light on the circumstances under which his death occurred.
The initial incident took place on Friday morning, when the 43-year-old (who had convictions on his record and had also served time in prison) came to the hospital for examination. According to information, he strongly disagreed with the doctor about how to treat his problem, with the argument quickly escalating into a violent attack.
The Police were immediately notified, who filed a case file about the incident. The perpetrator, however, had already left the hospital and was being sought in the context of the ongoing investigation. Information indicates that he remained in hiding in the following days, in order to avoid arrest.
The exact causes of death are being investigated, while a forensic examination is expected that will shed light on the circumstances under which his death occurred and whether it is related to the initial problem for which he was admitted to the hospital on Friday.
The intervention of the Police and the Prosecutor's Office has already been requested
