A selfie at the famous Navagio beach in Zakynthos was the one for which the 22-year-old American traveled from Athens, where he was on vacation, on the same day, and it almost cost him his life.
According to ERT, the young man ignored the warning and prohibition signs at the scene, went outside the railings there and reached the edge of the cliff, in order to take the coveted selfie.
However, in his attempt, he slipped and fell off the cliff. However, he was very lucky, as he was trapped in a pine tree in the first ten meters of the 300-meter cliff. In fact, during his fall, his cell phone was lost, but it landed on a rock, a little further away from him.
The 22-year-old, maintained his composure, managed to grab his cell phone and notify the authorities. All this with a 300-meter cliff below him and leaning on a bush.
Visitors who saw the incident had also notified the authorities and 14 firefighters, the men of the 17th EMODE, police officers, an EKAB ambulance and members of the Civil Protection of the Municipality and the Sub-region of Zakynthos arrived at the scene.
