Greek driver stole Hermès bag and Rolex worth €75,000 from Ukrainian tourist in Mykonos, hid them under rocks

According to the complaint of the 29-year-old Ukrainian, the accused, who transported him by vehicle on the Mykonos - Ano Meras provincial road, demanded and received as collateral personal items of great value, in order to ensure payment for the journey to his accommodation in Elia.

The Ukrainian handed over to the driver:

- a women's Hermès handbag, worth 15,000 euros, and

- a luxury Rolex Day-Date watch, worth 60,000 euros.

At 06:20 in the morning, the Greek driver, taking advantage of the fact that the 29-year-old got out of the vehicle, sped up and disappeared, abandoning him at the scene and keeping the valuables in his possession.

The Mykonos police used the information at their disposal and located the 34-year-old in the Agios Stefanos area. In searches carried out both in his vehicle and in the accommodation where he was temporarily staying on the island, the stolen goods were not found.

However, the objects were found carefully hidden under rocks, in an open area near the Church of Agios Patapios.
