New Layoffs in Public Sector
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The new ministerial decrees for the abolition of 1,929 integral and person-specific positions, staffed through indefinite period contracts, were made public today.
The decrees were signed by the minister of government reform Kyriakos Mitsotakis and nine other ministers.
Common ministerial decrees for the education ministry and defense are still pending. The first because of the issues with tertiary education institution administrative staff, and the second because of the exceptions recently voted in concerning relatives of personnel fallen in the line of duty.
Ministries that have already complied with the ministerial decrees are: Economy, Transportation & Infrastructure, Development, Labor, Environment & Energy, Culture, Agriculture, Tourism, and Merchant Marine.
The abolition of these positions is in compliance of relevant decisions taken at the government reform council meeting, of 23 July, 26 August, and 13 September 2013.
