Golden Dawn Scrutinized by Justice

The counter-terrorist squad of Greek police (ELAS) is taking over all cases linking Golden Dawn with criminal activities, after a decision by the chief of police.

According to latest information, from the cell phone of the confessed murderer of Pavlos Fyssas six calls were found to have been made prior to the murder, after protection of personal data rules were lifted. Police are looking into whether any of these are linked to cell phones belonging to the Golden Dawn, Nikaia chapter, general secretary.

The ministry of public order also announced that police escorts for Golden Dawn deputies are being recalled. The measure will be enacted until the supreme court prosecutor can opine on the data sent to her by public order minister Nikos Dendias on criminal activities by Golden Dawn members and supporters.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Ethnos newspaper, a former member of the Golden Dawn Nikaia chapter openly says that the murderer receive the OK from Golden Dawn parliament member Ioannis Lagos, if he was not directly ordered by him.

He also named Giorgos Roupakias as second in the organization. As he mentioned, when asked if the murder could have taken place without the knowledge of party chief Mihaloliakos: "The chief may not have given the OK. But not Lagos. He is the backbone in Nikaia and knows everything."
