Samaras Pledges Job Creations & High Investments

  • Written by

Yesterday, Prime Minister Antonis Samaras stated Greece's goals over the next few years, which focus on tax breaks, concrete investments, and job developments.

He warned citizens that a SYRIZA led government would be: "turning the country back", as reported by Kathimerini.  The Prime Minister promised that the nation's unemployment figure would achieve a lesser rate, than the European Union average by 2020. Currently Greece's unemployment amount is the largest in the EU, at 26.5%. He predicted an investment of 54.5 billion euros into the Hellenic economy and a creation of 870,000 jobs, within the following seven years.

At his speech at the Benaki Museum, Samaras pledged,"From now on, there will be no more looking down... the recession ends this year". He declared his five areas of concern that include: unemployment reduction, lower taxes, liquidity securing, lowering agricultural production prices, and enhancing reforms.

While criticizing SYRIZA, Samaras claimed: "We will not let anyone turn us back". According to Kathimerini, the New Democracy reigning leader will refer to this statement as his main focus, during the days before Sunday's election. On Friday, the Greek Prime Minister is scheduled to offer another campaign speech in Athens.
