PPC Privatization Bill Causes Political Controversy
Today's Public Power Corporation partial privatization bill was met with controversy and tension, among different political parties.
SYRIZA demanded the bill's immediate withdrawal, and blamed the governmental administration of having no political validity to, "the sellout and dissolution of the biggest public enterprise", as reported by ANA-MPA. SYRIZA further stated that "this crime" will not go unpunished.
Opposing political parties also grilled the bill regarding former Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras' ratifying signature, and questioned why it didn't include current Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis' approval. Discussions are scheduled for tomorrow as well.
