Tsipras Praised by Le Monde

SYRIZA president Alexis Tsipras is being touted as the favorite child of the European Left by French newspaper Le Monde, adding that he is often invited by his French and German counterparts.
"He is a person now taken seriously and it is believed that he may play a key role," was a comment by a European Commission representative in Athens.
"His visit to Brussels roves that he has started entering other circles. This is significant, since he was initially considered personna non grata by European institutions, when the Greek economic crisis was at its height," noted the French newspaper.
Le Monde also stated that Mr. Tsipras will probably be the Left's candidate, in 2014, for the position now held by José Manuel Barroso.
