FM Dendias in surprise visit to Libya

Arab media reported that Nikos Dendias is visiting Benghazi today to meet with National Libyan Army leader Khalifa Haftar. The government has not officially confirmed this, but the foreign minister made the trip. This visit had been preceded by Mr. Dedia's previous visits to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Jordan.

Nezavisimaya Gazeta: Libyan war may pit Russia and Turkey against each other

Ankara will send troops to Libya if the internationally recognized Government of National Accord (GNA) headed by Fayez al-Sarraj requests it, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said. Such a scenario sets the stage for a potential conflict with Russia, who feels politically closer to commander of the Libyan Army (LNA) Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Nezavisimaya Gazeta wrote.

Libyan fleet chief writes in Greek of taking Tripoli and dashing Ankara’s plans

In a post on his Facebook account that has created quite a sensation, Admiral Faraj al-Mahdawi, head of the Libyan Fleet, strongly expressed his opposition to Erdogan’s agreement with Fayez al-Sharjam on maritime borders. The Libyan admiral wrote specifically in fluent Greek: “We will liberate the capital, Tripoli, and destroy the Turkish dream.”
