The first meeting of the interparty committee on the voting rights of Greeks living abroad concluded on Wednesday under the chair of Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos at the ministry.
The meeting was also attended by State Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and focused on recording the official position of the government and of each parliamentary party represented.
A new meeting is scheduled for Monday, when the agenda will focus on four points that the ministry will send to representatives in writing.
"In any case, the government is determined to go ahead and legislate in order to facilitate this right, because we owe it to the young people who left Greece during the crisis years and to the hundreds of thousands of Greeks who have lived away from Greece all these years and retain this constitutional right," Theodorikakos said.
