Featured International Conference: "Contemporary and Timeless Aspects of the Greek Diaspora IV"

Dozens of academics and researchers from Greece, the rest of Europe and Australia are participating in the proceedings of the 4th International Conference on the Greek Diaspora, entitled "Contemporary and Intertemporal Aspects of the Greek Diaspora IV", which is co-organized by "Charles Darwin" University of Australia, the University of the Aegean and the University of Macedonia.

Its work is conducted hybridly, with both physical and remote participation on three different conference days, the first of which took place on Friday, May 31, 2024 and was hosted by Charles Darwin University.

On Saturday, June 29, 2024, the second conference day will take place, which will be based in Rhodes and the University of the Aegean and will begin with the speech of the Deputy President of the Greek Language Center (KEG) and Professor of the Philology Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Dimitris Koutsoyiannis, with the topic "Teaching Greek in the diaspora: from theory and research to language policy".

The third and last conference day will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the University of Macedonia, in Thessaloniki.

Among the topics to be examined at the 4th International Conference on the Greek Diaspora are issues related to history, literature, immigration, religion, culture and daily life, while there will be an extensive discussion on Greek language education and the promotion of of Greek studies and the Greek language in the Diaspora.
