The success story of two Greek architects in San Francisco
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Katerina Bouziana and Margarita Nikita are two women who were born and raised in Thessaloniki. They studied at the Polytechnic of AUTH and from there they traveled to the other side of the Atlantic, specifically to San Francisco, creating High Q Renders.
At that moment a success story began. With a vision and a lot of work, the two dared to evolve into the demanding and fast-growing field of architecture and deal with 3D design when it was not as widespread as it is today.
High Q Renders is a company that specializes in 3D design, that is, they visualize the inspirations of architectural offices. It's the people who make a building look real, like it was photographed shortly after it was built, and make you feel like you're inside. An immersive visualization that allows architects to clearly present their designs from every angle, a medium that bridges the creator's vision with what each client has in mind.
Katerina Bouziana and Margarita Nikita
Katerina did postgraduate studies at the ETH in Zurich. From an early age we felt the need to create. Architecture combines artistic expression with science and technology, something that excited us from the first moment we started learning about this field. The first visits to famous architectural monuments and buildings made us realize the influence of architecture and confirmed our desire to follow this path.
At that time, 3D rendering was not yet widespread. While theywere studying at the School of Architecture, but also when we started working as architects, we saw on a daily basis the difficulty of clients to perceive the final result only through two-dimensional drawings and models. We therefore decided to create something that could take architectural presentation to the next level and help architects and designers communicate their visions in the most impressive and realistic way."
The choice of San Francisco as a home was inevitable, as Margarita Nikita was already living there. After all, as they themselves describe, the city is a place that favors growth.
As far as Greece is concerned, they continue to contribute in every possible way to the development of entrepreneurship and have been cooperating for the last five years with Greek companies and professionals, bringing innovations to the Greek market as well. For example, in Greece they have worked for Hilton with Pembrooke and Ives from New York, with Lamda Development for Elliniko, with USP for Porto Carras, with Makridis and Associates for Miramare Corfu, with Olivia Sisko for the Elounda Blu.
3D visualizations are essential because they facilitate the understanding of the final product or project and help to better communicate ideas between architects, clients and manufacturers, making collaboration more effective. In addition, they allow architects to analyze and control details accurately, highlighting potential problems before construction, thus saving time and cost.
A few years ago they worked on one of the houses that the family of the rapper P. Diddy had bought. They soon decided that it did not meet their needs, as the parking lot and pool area were too small to serve the people they invite to their meetings. Before they proceed with the renovation, which would cost a significant amount, we were asked to make various 3D expansion proposals of these two spaces so that they could choose the best possible solution and be confident with their investment.
At High Q Renders, digital architecture design is a process that combines art and technology to create realistic and impressive renderings.
