Featured Larissa: 32-year-old footballer who was found dead in his team's locker room in Germany

Larissa is mourning  the loss of 32-year-old footballer Sokratis Evangelos who passed away prematurely, in Germany where he had been living recently.

In recent years, he had worked in Munich, even competing in an amateur team. About two years ago, according to information from onlarissa.gr, the deceased 32-year-old had faced a very serious cardiac problem, as a result of which he had to stop playing football.

Socrates left for Germany and even slowly started playing again for an amateur team in Munich. About two weeks ago, he felt very unwell and went to a hospital in Munich where they found nothing wrong with him, so he continued his life and daily routine normally.

All this until a few days ago when they were looking for him at training and found him dead in his team's locker room. According to information, Socrates lost his life from an aneurysm.

The family's appeal for financial assistance and the response
In the meantime, the family of the unfortunate 32-year-old is appealing through social media posts for financial support in order to be able to transport his body to Greece for burial.

Specifically, as noted in a relevant publication: "With deep sadness, we ask for your help for a family that suddenly lost their child. The family is facing the difficult and financially burdensome task of transporting the child to Greece for burial in his homeland.

We ask that anyone who can, please offer even a small amount of help. Every contribution will make a difference and bring relief at this difficult time. Anyone who wishes to help can leave their contribution at KAFEPOLIO, Schmellerstraße 16 80336 München. All money will be given directly to the family. We thank you very much for your support.”

The family’s appeal was immediately responded to by a funeral home in Germany owned by a Greek and which is taking on all the costs of transporting the body from Munich to Larissa for Socrates to be buried in his homeland.

This is the ALPHA OMEGA funeral home, based in Munich and under the management of Mr. Antonis Loukas who undertakes to cover all the costs of transporting the body of the unfortunate Socrates Evangelos. As stated, "this initiative is a humanitarian gesture that comforts the family of the deceased in a difficult moment."
