George Stephanopoulos Gifts The Hyde Collection
Greek-American political expert George Stephanopoulos has recently gifted an elaborate photography compilation to The Hyde Collection.
The museum's director Charles A. Guerin spoke of the donation, "We have been hopeful of making additions to our photography holdings, but did not imagine that such a significant group of work might come into the collection at one time...The great breadth of photography history as well as the variety of national origins represented by this generous gift by Mr. Stephanopoulos makes this a truly exciting and important moment for the growth of our permanent collection."
The photographs contain one-hundred-and-twenty-eight pieces by premier American and international photography artists. Stephanopoulos commented on his lavish donation, "Our whole family is thrilled that this collection has found the perfect home. Knowing these images will be seen and valued makes us very happy". The Hyde Collection Art Museum & Historic House is located in Glen Falls, New York.
George Stephanopoulos is the news anchor of both "Good Morning America" and "This Week with George Stephanopoulos". He also serves as ABC's chief political correspondent. In prior posts, the Rhodes Scholar has served as President Clinton's Senior Policy and Strategy Advisor and as a Columbia University government professor. Stephanopoulos was born to first-generation Greek-American parents in Massachusetts.
