European Institutional assessment calls for a re-profiling of the Greek debt

According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), a new Debt Sustainability Assessment prepared by the European Institutions (i.e. EC/ECB/ESM) says that there are serious concerns about the sustainability of Greek government debt and that it will require mitigating measures - a step many Eurozone governments have been reluctant to take.

Avramopoulos participates in Greek government meeting on migration

A wider government meeting on migration issues affecting the Greek islands and ways to deal with the problem concluded at the Interior ministry on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by EU Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos, Alternate Minister for Migration Policy Tasia Christodoulopoulou, Interior Minister Nikos Voutsis, State Minister for Coordinating Government Operations Alekos Flambouraris, Alternate Shipping Minister Thodoris Dritsas and Alternate Minister for Civil Protection Yannis Panousis.

Participants also discussed other urgent issues which concern migration.

Meimarakis: New agreement is 'very bad'

The agreement signed by Greece and its creditors is “very bad”, the leader of main opposition New Democracy said on Tuesday, and accused the government of wasting time in useless talks.
