"Demi-god, there is no one like him": NBA and FIBA deify Antetokounmpo - His celebration for the Eurobasket 8 with the Greek flag
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The comments on both sides of the Atlantic are apologetic for Giannis Antetokounmpo after his stellar performance on Sunday night that led Greece to a victory over Israel (84-79) and qualification to the 8th round of Eurobasket 2025.
In just 29 minutes, the Greek Freak scored 37 points, collected 10 rebounds and handed out 1 assist, recording 37 in the evaluation system - and all this having gone to the shooting line only 2 times!
The Greek superstar was unstoppable, repeatedly rushing to the Israeli basket, nailing with power whenever he was given the opportunity, despite the tough play of the opponents.
“Giannis had an CRAZY performance leading Greece to the quarterfinals of Eurobasket,” was written on the NBA’s Instagram account.
"There is no one like him," FIBA boasted, recalling that Giannis Antetokounmpo has completed 11 years of appearances with the blue and white team, while in another post-sketch, the European Basketball Federation wrote "Giannis Antetokounmpo is a demigod, I am now convinced of this."
"He is the best player in the world," the Milwaukee Bucks reminded, speaking of their player's "dominant performance" at the Riga stadium on Sunday night.
The "deers", in fact, singled out one of Antetokounmpo's difficult baskets with the comment "Go-go gadget Giannis", reminiscent of policeman Sainis
Giannis Antetokounmpo himself, in just his second post during Eurobasket, chose a series of photos from his appearance against Israel, contenting himself with writing the Greek flag in the caption.
The final and official "seal" of Greece's qualification to the round of 8 of Eurobasket 2025 was put, however, by Thanasis Antetokounmpo, who took on the task of sticking the last sticker on the map of the competition.
