Standard Liege knocked out Panathinaikos after a 2-1 win in Greece. After a scoreless first leg, the Greek hosts took the lead through Dino Arslanagic's own goal.
Yanis Mbombo equalised for Standard and Paul-José Mpoku put them ahead with a beautifully curled effort just before the break.
The Belgians will be joined in the next round by Maribor, who staved off a Maccabi Tel Aviv fightback to register a 3-2 aggregate victory in Cyprus - a neutral venue being used due to unrest in Israel.
