Cypriot Tourist Trends Revealed
The Cypriot Statistical Service's Passengers Survey revealed that arrivals to the island rose by 5.7% last month, in addition to an 11.4% surge in international travels by Cypriots.
The Survey confirmed that 129,602 Cypriot traveled abroad this July, while 116,321 traveled the same month last year. A 5.9% rise was experienced in foreign arrivals between January to July this year, totaling 1,361,794, in comparison to 2013's 1,288,577.
This July, arrivals hit 381,955 in comparison to last year's 361,442 figure. Israeli tourist figures soared by a monumental 63.5%, while Russian travelers increased by 20.6%.
Yet, Greek arrivals dropped by 9.6%, Sweden by 4.3%, Norway by 13.7% and UK tourism rates declined by 4.1%. 56,195 Cypriot residents traveled to Greece in July, marking an increased rate by 25.6%
