"Which?" magazine: Kefalonia best Greek island - Mykonos last

Featured "Which?" magazine: Kefalonia best Greek island - Mykonos last

And yet it happened! The cosmopolitan and famous Mykonos was in the last place of the 10 best Greek islands, according to the readers of the British magazine "Which?", which is also a consumer information company.

Specifically, 1,000 readers were asked to rate the 10 best Greek islands, in various areas, from beaches and food to value for money.

At the top was Kefalonia, which was the only one to receive 5 stars in the beaches category, as well as in the food category. It received four stars for accommodation and value for money, and three for sightseeing and shopping.

Thanks to these scores, Kefalonia stole the lead from Lefkada, which this year shared second place with Skiathos, garnering a score of 84%.

The fact that Mykonos was at the bottom of the list is a surprise. The Cycladic island, which is preferred every year by Greek and foreign tourists from all over the world, was characterized by the readers of "Which?", "crowded" and "expensive".

In addition, a reader recommended visiting it in the off season.

It is worth noting that the cosmopolitan island received only two stars in terms of quality and price.

"If you're planning a Greek island getaway, you have a lot of options," noted Joe Rhodes, on behalf of "Which?", pointing out that each Greek island has "its own character and hidden treasures to discover."

"Kefalonia, Skiathos and Lefkada, which were in the top three this year, had a high score in the peace and tranquility category. Party-loving Mykonos was last on our list, as visitors judged it too crowded and overpriced," he added.
