Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, announces the start of flights with the upgraded Boeing 777 aircraft that will now serve flights in the Greek market.

Since February 10, 2025, when it officially landed for the first time at Athens International Airport, the renovated 4-class Boeing 777 now serves the Dubai - Athens - New York route, providing passengers with an upgraded and luxurious travel experience.

The inclusion of the upgraded aircraft in the Emirates fleet underlines the company’s long-standing commitment to the Greek market, providing passengers traveling from Dubai via Athens to New York and vice versa, access to its award-winning products and services. The renovated Boeing 777 is part of Emirates’ ambitious global modernization program, aiming to comprehensively upgrade the travel experience across its network.

Upgraded Luxury Cabins on Emirates’ Refurbished Boeing 777
First Class: Advanced technology, ergonomic zero-gravity seats and full-floor-to-ceiling privacy doors ensure increased comfort and functionality. The mid-sized suites feature virtual windows, offering vivid outside views even from the center of the cabin.

Premium Economy: Features 24 cream leather seats in a 2-4-2 configuration, with 38 inches of pitch, 19.5 inches of width and 8 inches of recline, for unparalleled comfort. Adjustable headrests and ample legroom ensure a relaxing journey, ideal for both business and leisure travel.

Business Class: Inspired by Emirates’ iconic A380, the business class cabin features 40 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring direct aisle access for every passenger. Luxurious leather seats, champagne accents, a personal mini-bar and wood trim create an elegant atmosphere. Each seat converts into a comfortable 78.6-inch bed and features a 23-inch HD screen for premium in-flight entertainment.

Economy Class: With 256 ergonomically designed seats in soft gray and blue colors, the upgraded Economy Class ensures enhanced support and additional comfort for all passengers.

13 upgraded aircraft in full operation
Thanks to the Boeing 777 upgrade program, which began in July 2024, 13 upgraded aircraft have already been delivered in full operation. These aircraft serve routes to destinations such as Geneva, Zurich, Brussels, Haneda, Riyadh, Kuwait and Chicago, with the Athens-New York route added to the expanded list of destinations served by the upgraded fleet.

In addition to Greece, the upgraded Boeing 777 has recently expanded to include major US cities such as Chicago, Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Seattle and Miami/Bogota, giving passengers on these destinations the opportunity to enjoy Emirates’ premier Premium Economy and upgraded Business Class.

Passengers travelling from Dubai to New York via Athens or direct to Newark can now enjoy a comfortable and luxurious journey, with the latest cabin upgrades at every stage of their journey.
