The 64-year-old Ambassador has been in his current position since August 5th, 2013. Pearce previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to Algeria, between 2008 until 2011. Prior, the Maine native worked as the Assistant Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan and as the Deputy United States Special Envoy for Afghanistan and Pakistan.
