U.S. Transportation Commander & General Selva Tours Greece
The Commander of U.S. Transportation Command, four-star General Paul J. Selva is in Greece this week, and is holding meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Kotzias and Defense Minister Panos Kammenos.
General Selva is also scheduled to meet with delegates at Naval Support Activity located at Souda Bay, Crete. The U.S. General discussed productive bilateral ties between both countries, along with their vital security and defense alliances. Selva commended Greece's NATO efforts and the significance of preserving stability and peace in the Mediterranean region.
General Selva stated, "Greece is a steadfast, strategic NATO ally, and I am pleased to be in the Hellenic Republic this week to meet new counterparts and reinforce our strong partnership," according the the U.S. Embassy in Athens.
The four-star General is a trained command pilot and has over 3,100 flying hours in diverse airliners. Before his current post, General Selva served as the Commander of Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
