CNN Producers Arrested at WTC

This marks the third case recently that involves World Trade Center trespassing since last week. Yon Pomrenze, 35, and Connor Fieldman Boals, 26, made three attempts to enter before getting arrested. Their first attempt involved trying to talk their way in while their second attempt was to climb over a perimeter fence. They got arrested on their third attempt after forcefully trying to enter an electronic gate. Both men have been charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction of governmental administration and criminal trespassing.

Port Authority police confirmed that the two producers tried to get inside the property three different times yesterday afternoon. Yet, Mayor de Blasio remains confident that a solution to the lack of security at the World Trade Center will be found. The Mayor explained,"I know that both City Hall and 1 Police Plaza are concerned about this situation and we are going to deepen our coordination with Port Authority Police to address it. It's obviously not an acceptable state of affairs, but we think it's one that together we can resolve". The producers are now waiting for an arraignment. CNN Spokesman Barbara Levin wrote via email that the two producers were on assignment, however "were not asked to sneak onto the WTC site."
