NYPD Increases Passover Security

  • Written by

The NYPD has increased security at New York City synagogues, due to the weekend's Kansas City shootings at Jewish organizations, resulting in the death of three.

Sundown marks the beginning of Passover. Each year, law enforcement increases protective services in the five boroughs. Three people were fatally shot outside of a Jewish retirement home and community center in Overland Park. 73-year-old Frazier Glenn Cross has been reported to be the gunman. Police authorities have reported that he is a former KKK member and white supremacist, who also goes by the last name Miller.

The shooter began firing first outside the community center and killed a 14-year-old boy and his grandfather. Both were of Christian faith. Cross then traveled to the retirement home and shot the final victim, before he was caught and taken into custody. The NYPD will sustain additional security all over New York City, until Passover is over.
