Suspected Terrorist Mustafa's Trial Begins

  • Written by

Egyptian Islamic preacher Mustafa Kamel Mustafa who is on trial due to his terrorist involvement, will testify on his own accord.

Today, New York lawyer Joshua Dratel confirmed this to involved jurors and claimed that Mustafa never hurt any American citizens.

The U.S. government believes the criminal attempted to design an al Qaeda training camp from 1999 to 2000, in Oregon. Additionally, he is being held on charges that include assisting Yemen kidnappers in 1998's attack that left four dead, and organizing an Afghanistan al Qaeda training camp.

According to WCBS 880, Mustafa has been described as an individual with a mission to create an American al Qaeda training camp, as stated by Federal prosecutor Edward Kim. The prosecutor claimed to juries that the defendant paid the way for two men to establish the compound for future trainings. 55-year-old Mustafa is known to be an international preacher and terrorist trainer.

The suspected one-eyed terrorist was jailed in Britain since 2004 on separate indictments. Mustafa arrived in the U.S. in 2012, after being extradited from England; America promised he would have a civilian trial with no death penalty option.
