YAI Network Holds Annual Conference, NYC

  • Written by

For over thirty years, the YAI Network has financed the International Conference on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

The yearly conference brings more than 3,000 professionals, disabled persons and family members together, to learn and collaborate on critical matters. Seminars and workshops focus on training and service quality, for the world's population of disabled citizens.

YAI's mission is to assist the disabled community in living the fullest life available, through the creation of new circumstances that enhance living, loving and working. Established in 1957, the organization has succeeded in enabling all involved. The Network employs over 5,000 workers and offers referral systems and information, specialized and primary healthcare, rehabilitation and mental health services, day services, trainings and placements, and residential assistance.

This year's conference features Dr. Maria Tsouriadou, who serves as a Professor of Special Education Learning Disabilities at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Dr. Tsouriadou's topic centers on "Measuring Quality of Life on Adults with Intellectual Disabilities in Greece". Her seminar will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 1:30-2:45 p.m.

The YAI International Conference on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities will take place in New York City, between April 28th and May 1, 2014, at Midtown's Hilton Hotel.
