The operation of Hellenic Police (EL.AS) . for the evacuation of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from the squatters, was completed with the police proceeding with 33 detentions.

According to the announcement of EL.AS., with a coordinated operation of the Security Directorate of Thessaloniki, with the assistance of forces of Ε.Κ.Α.Μ., Ο.Π.Κ.Ε. as well as the Directorate of Police Operations and the Directorates of Police and Traffic of Thessaloniki, the evacuation of the occupation of the Rectorate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) was completed smoothly at 07:20.

The police proceeded with 33 detentions during the operation to evacuate the occupation of the Rector's Office of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH). These are 26 men and 7 women who were taken to the city police station in order to be identified andquestioned.

The operation started at 6 in the morning, when strong police forces cordoned off the area around the University Campus and was "completed smoothly", according to an announcement by the Hellenic Police, an hour and a half later. While the operation was in progress, a helicopter of EL.AS. was flying over the campus relaying the image to the Police Operations Center.

What the police found inside the area
Regarding the suspects, the police announced that "19 of them declared themselves students of AUTh, while the remaining 14 are not related to the University".
In the same announcement, Police gave to the public photos from the operation which was coordinated by the Security Directorate of Thessaloniki.
In fact, among what was found in the area were the banners that the squatters themselves had posted in favor of Koufontina.

Tension during the evacuation operation
During the operation there was no lack of tension, when students went in front of the riot police to protest, denouncing their repression and expulsion from the University, tension arose and the police pushed them to remove them from the spot.
